Three more weeks until the baby is due. Now, Mary sees the doctor every week. There are some logistical difficulties with going that often. It isn't practical to find someone to watch Caleb for every visit, so he tags along. Let's say he knows the routine pretty well. He mimics what the baby's heartbeat sounds like and measures mama's belly for the doctor.
Today Mary had an appointment. The nurse called Mary and Caleb back and showed them into an exam room. After doing the usual nurse routine (weight, blood pressure, etc.), the nurse told Mary to sit down on the table and the doctor would be in shortly.
As the nurse closed the door, Caleb sprung into action. He moved the doctor's chair over to the exam table, sat down, looked at Mary, and said, "So, how are you doing today?"
Mary laughed. The doctor came into the room a few minutes later. She pulled the chair over and looked at Mary and said, "So, how are you doing today?"
