Aren't You Curious ...

... as to what we are calling the new baby?

We usually have a name for the baby while it is still in utero. Grace is the exception, though at the very end of the pregnancy we would joke that mother and child created "Mary full of Grace." Caleb was called "Bebub" because that was all Grace could get out. We had the first two names picked out and we found out their gender. That really limited our creativity. We did not find out the gender of the next two children. This lead to Robert being called baby Gertrude before his birth. Joshua was Mortimer Aloisius, of course.

Well, we have a name for the new addition. This baby is called Herbert Nenninger. Now before you start rolling your eyes, you need to know that Grace gave the baby that in utero name. You might think it is an odd name, but if you have a child about 3-8 years old who watches some of the kids' shows on PBS, ask them if they know this name.

If you don't, then just google it.

Did you have to pass along all of your genes to your children? Mom

Mom,

One day I will sit down with you and have a "birds and the bees" chat. But suffice it to say for now, you do pass on your genes. Not all of them. But half of them. I will explain later....

I fear at times that you have passed on far too many of yours.

it happens when the primal genitors of the first generation skip that of the second generation therefore the second rejects the oddity gene and it jumps generations to the third generation. Biblically it is called the curse of the fathers to the third or fourth generation, or as I call it from sj cometh the fruit

Since no one else mentioned it... I knew where the name was from immediately! It's one of Bill's bunnies from the country on Curious George. Congrats on the baby!!

I am so glad Herbert decided to be a girl and gamble on a better name. Kids #1, 2, and 4 were named in utero with real names but the boys named #3 George Washington and for #5 they have decided on "Divine Flower of Rome" for a girl and "Dianthus" for a boy - the names of the unicorn in "Blizzard of the Blue Moon" - a Magic Tree House book.
A huge congratulations on your new baby!!!
